Rikki rented a truck from Ryder last week for this move. They called on Monday to confirm the reservation for Sat the 15th. I was asked on the phone if we didn't mind upgrading at no cost,so I agreed 'cus Rikki said he wished he had gotten one side up from the side panel truck. So Rick,Rikki and Kristy went on to the place and I get a call..."Mom you said they asked you to upgrade... well ..(long pause and excitement) they upgraded us ALL the way and I mean the biggest truck they got a 26 foot truck, 26 feet long!" I started laughing and said "you wanted the upgrade" we hung up. I had company -Kristy's uncle-come and wait for the kids to get back and the first thing I said was "holy chit that things big" It took up the next door neighbors park spot in front of their house-across our drive-up to the the neighbors drive on the left. When you got into it, from a sitting position all you can see with traffic is the tops of a passing car.and bumps.. you FEEL every crack and every bump in the road.
Although it was a "BEAST" -that's what I called it_ the beast_, it actually saved everyone else a drive to Madison. They stopped by her dad and got her furniture,picked up the freezer we bought at a rummage, her uncle had the bed, and her grandpa came with a full truck to our house to load.. so everything fit all one shot... BUT we only filled less than half the truck length.. what could we do that was the last truck, next time no upgrades with them I reserve one size I get that size that's it!

Even tho Rikki stayed in his room 85% of the time, you still had Leon (the Cockatiel) whistling, cooing, and the kids coming and going. yesterday we moved him and this morning its just so eary quiet. Jessi wont eat any doggy snacks, she's in a kinda funk - with border collies things must be the same, once you change something they are in a state of depression. Kiba sometimes gets up and looks at the back door, like he's expecting the kids to come back thru it. Even tho his old bedroom door is open, and empty - it "feels" empty.
I know he's only 2 hours away and this was something that was going to eventually happen .. its still sad to see them go.I guess once the sadness passes I will be glad when I know everyone is alright and I can relax.

The kids' apartment maybe on the small side but its still THEIRS. they came up with enough money to pay for it together,we moved them in and now its up to them to make it thru. It took alot of scheduling, organizing and finance to get as far as them two did this past year and I am proud of them. Miss them already but wish them two the best of luck with getting unpacked and with schooling.
